Jeep Heads into 75th Year with new Sales Records

2016 marks the 75th anniversary of the Jeep brand, and the company is kicking the new year off on a high note, earning U.S. and global sales records. Having topped last year's sales totals in early November, the brand has already earned the records. However, total numbers won't be known until December's numbers are reported sometime this week.

Early this past December, FCA announced that Jeep brand sales had been up 20 percent for most of the year, and were on pace to top 1.2 million vehicles sold. The represents a significant increase of 2014, which set its own record with sales topping 1, 017,000 for the first time in the brand's history. The good news doesn't stop there, however. A few recent developments are setting the brand up for an even more successful 2016.

With new plants in Brazil and China, the company is expecting increased sales of the Renegade and Cherokee, in Latin America and Asia, respectively. Also a new model called the C-SUV is set to replace the Compass and Patriot models in the coming year.
