Comparing the Powerful 2020 RAM 1500 to the Toyota Tundra, Ford F-150, and Chevy Silverado 1500

Trucks have always been an American mainstream vehicle with owners who tend to have cultish followings and loyalty. They say once you're a Chevrolet, Ford, RAM, or Toyota driver, you tend not to veer. Everyone has their preferred truck considering they are both durable, long lasting, and have a wide range of utilities; perfect for the working or adventurous Louisville resident who could use the premium towing and storage capacity. The 2020 Dodge RAM 1500 however changes the game and should grab your attention due to their better combination of nicer cabin quality with more standard features, as well as efficiency and power.

The 2020 RAM 1500 comes in a multitude of trims for the Lyndon driver such as the Limited, Laramie Longhorn®, Laramie®, Rebel®, Big Horn®, and Tradesman® to offer multiple features and options for even the pickiest driver.

2020 RAM 1500 vs. the Ford F-150

The 2020 RAM 1500 comes with a standard unleaded V6 3.6-liter engine with 305 horsepower @6400 rpm, compared to the less powerful 290 horsepower @6500 rpm on the F-150. The 2020 RAM 1500 also comes with an eight-speed automatic in comparison to the standard six-speed on the Ford F-150.

The Ford F-150's interior doesn't quite match up to the 2020 RAM 1500's thanks to more standard available features such as cruise control, power door locks, heated mirrors, and more. The interior of the RAM gets higher ratings across the board with its superior cabin quality and with twice the passenger room (6) compared to Ford F-150's (3).

2020 RAM 1500 vs. the Toyota Tundra

The 2020 RAM 1500 comes with a more spacious interior, and a much higher fuel economy than the Tundra (17 city/25 hwy, vs 15 city/19 hwy respectively). While both maintain a comfortable ride, interior features dominate in the 2020 RAM 1500. The Toyota Tundra now comes standard with a 5.7-liter V8 and now offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In higher trim levels, the RAM 1500 also provides better towing capacity.

2020 RAM 1500 vs the Chevy Silverado 1500

The 2020 RAM 1500 has a capable competitor in the Chevy Silverado 1500. The RAM 1500 boasts a higher 305 horsepower on its 3.6-liter V6 engine compared to the Chevy Silverado's 4.3-liter V6 engine with 285 horsepower. The Chevy Silverado 1500 does offer a new turbo-diesel engine option this year as well.

The Chevy Silverado also comes up slightly short against the RAM 1500 in fuel economy.

With standard interior features such as Advanced Multistage Front Air Bags, Child Seat Anchor System, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Traction Control standard on the base level trim, the Chevy Silverado 1500 can't match.
